Alessandro Mazzucotelli (1865 - 1938) was an Italian craftsman, particularly known as a master blacksmith and decorator. A specialist in wrought–iron working, Mazzucotelli came to fame thanks to his decorative approach, which became very popular among Liberty artists, architects and designers in Italy and abroad. His works were showcased for the first time in 1902, at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative Art in Turin. He collaborated with famous architects such as Giuseppe Sommaruga, Gaetano Moretti, Ernesto Pirovano, Franco Oliva, Ulisse Stacchini and Silvio Gambini. In 1925 he was called by Gabriele D'Annunzio, together with other artists, to decorate the sumptuous residence of the Vittoriale in Gardone Riviera. He participated in multiple international projects and exhibitions, gaining recognition and eminent prizes.
